16 | Notizie | A special series Scuderia Spider 16M is unveiled at the World Finals at Mugello Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M Ferrari SpA At the Ferrari World Finals at Mugello in November, 2008, Ferrari decided to unveil a new model ahead of schedule, the Scuderia Spider 16M. This is the latests in marketing tactic that Ferrari has used many times before - take an existing model and modify it enough so that it becomes and entirely new model in its own right. This is not simply a case of extending the production run of the basic model but rather a case of taking something established and seeing what you can do with it, in terms of styling, performance or intended us. |

32 | Feature | The 365 GT 2+2 - a Graceful Giant Ferrari 1970 365 GT 2+2 chassis s/n 13159 Cavallino Staff, Keith Bluemel David Gooley Long overlooked and certainly neglected for much of its life, the 365 GT 2+2 has been enjoying a resurgence of sorts, not just in terms of price stability, which is in line with the general overall price stability of nearly all other older Ferrari models, but slo in terms of its inherent qualities as a real Ferrari of the old school. At its introduction in 1967 at the Paris Salon, it was seen as just the next model in Ferrari's 2+2 line of street cars, which really started with the emergence of the 250 GTE 2+2 in 1960. |
39 | Feature | The History of the First Ferrari Automatic On January 30, 1969, Luigi Chinetti commissioned Ferrari to build six 365 GT 2+2s with automatic transmission Pietro Castiglioni Courtesy Pietro Castiglioni Nowadays, Ferraris equipped with automatic transmission are quite common and, for the past several years, even their Formula One cars have featured electronic gearboxes. But when did it all begin? The day was January 30, 1969. It was on that day that Luigi Chinetti realized the demand for an automatic Ferrari and commissioned the Ferrari Factory for six 365 GT 2+2 equipped with automatic transmissions. |
44 | Feature | Cabriolet The Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina series 1 Cabriolet, s/n 0813 GT Keith Bluemel, Marcel Massini Dom Miliano Chassis s/n 0813 GT took the prestigious Best of Show GT Car Award at the 17th Annual Palm Beach Cavallino Classic in January of 2008 against strong competition, and we now bring you a gallery of specially commissioned images of this supremely elegant 250 GT Cabriolet. It is a truly classic design from Pinin Farina, and in the writer's humble opinion one of the most beautiful cabriolet bodies ever to grace a Ferrari chassis. |
54 | Feature | Ferrari 60 Years: 1948-2008 68 models over 60 years tell the story of Ferrari in Formula One Paolo d'Alessio, Pietro Castiglioni Paolo d'Alessio To say Ferrari and to say Formula One is to say almost the same thing. This is because Ferrari is the only Scuderia in the world that has taken part in all the World Championship races, from 1950 until today; and also because Ferrari has won more races and more Constructors' titles than any other racing team. The more than sixty eight technical masterpieces that we will describe over the next pages will summarize their characteristics and achievements. |
